Villa Jovis

Villa Jovis is the remains of an ancient Roman palace dating back to Emperor Tiberius, with its historical remnants tracing back to 27 AD. The surviving ruins of the site reveal the grandeur of the palace's construction and the architectural style befitting an emperor of that era.

Villa Jovis is situated in a very isolated and strategic location at the far northeastern tip of Capri Island in the Naples province, at an elevation of 589 meters. According to historians, the northern wing of the building was used for living quarters, while the southern wing served administrative purposes. The eastern wing of the palace was dedicated to reception events, while the western wing featured a hall that overlooked breathtaking views, revealing the entire island.

Access to Villa Jovis is only possible on foot, involving a challenging hike of about two kilometers from the city of Capri.
