Exploring Muradiye Complex: History and Beauty of Sultan Murad II in Bursa

The Muradiye Complex or Sultan Murad II Complex, is one of the most famous landmarks of the city of Bursa, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage and Culture list, and it represents one of the prominent remains from the era of the Ottoman Empire.

The Muradiye Complex was established in early 1420 AD. It comprises a mosque, which is considered the last mosque built by the Ottoman sultans in Bursa. Additionally, it includes a school, a kitchen, a cemetery, and a traditional Turkish bath made of bricks, along with several fountains. Moreover, it contains several tombs of prominent state figures, scholars, and elders from that period. The complex was once the largest and most important social center in the state during its peak of activity.
