Habu City: Historical Gem on the Banks of the Nile in Luxor

The Habu City is a small historic city located on the western bank of the Nile River in the region of Luxor, historically known as "Thebes," in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Habu City is known for being an area full of temples, which is why continuous excavations take place there. This fact attracts many tourists annually, with their number exceeding 5 million tourists each year. However, what mostly draws these tourists is the Temple of Ramses III, also known as the Temple of Habu or the Funerary Temple. The reason for the abundance of temples in that area is that the ancient Egyptians believed that the eight creator deities had landed in the region before their departure to create the world. This is said to be the narrative of the Heliopolitan doctrine. Aside from this story, there are many other stories that vary from one doctrine to another. Therefore, when visiting the area, it's recommended to bring a tourist guide to enjoy all the narrated stories.
