Split Archaeological Museum

Split Archaeological Museum is one of the most important and oldest museums in Croatia and in Europe as well. The museum was established in 1820 in the Croatian city of Split.

Split Archaeological Museum focuses on historical artifacts, some of which date back to prehistoric times and continue through the Middle Ages. The museum houses 1,750 archaeological pieces, including items from ancient tombs that could be related to kings of the Roman Empire, ancient coins that have gone out of circulation, as well as numerous sculptures and ancient inscriptions.

Opening Hours:

The museum operates in two shifts from Monday to Friday.

First Shift: 09:00-14:00. Second Shift: 16:00-20:00.

On Saturdays, the museum is open from 09:00 to 14:00.

Closed on Sundays.
