Information about Yildiz Palace

Yıldız Palace (النجمة) (بالتركية: Yıldız Sarayı) was constructed at the end of the 19th century by the order of Sultan Abdul Hamid II. Another account suggests that it was built in 1790 by the order of Sultan Selim III as a gift for his mother, Sultan "Mahri Shah." The palace underwent several expansions during the reign of Sultan Abdul Hamid II.

Yıldız Palace is considered the last palace built by the Ottomans and served as the Ottoman state's headquarters, replacing Dolmabahçe Palace (بالتركية: Dolmabahçe Sarayı) from the time of Sultan Abdul Hamid II until the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1922.
