Railway Museum in Istanbul The Railway Museum is one of the modern museums, built in 2005, but its origins trace back to the Ottoman train station, construction of which began in 1888 and was completed in 1890. Today, it is located in the historic Sirkeci district of Istanbul.
The Railway Museum houses around 300 archaeological pieces related to railways, displayed in a 145 square meter exhibition area.

The exhibits at the Railway Museum include valuable and precious photographs of Ottoman trains, as well as parts of trains and archaeological elements from stations, all preserved and displayed in the exhibition. There is also a vast collection of documents related to train stations and Ottoman trains.

The museum is open every day except for Sundays and Mondays, from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
