The Great Mosque
The Grand Mosque, located in Kuwait, is considered the largest and most important mosque in the country. It was established in 1982 over an area of approximately 45,000 square meters. The mosque is spacious enough to accommodate around 170,000 worshippers during Ramadan nights. It also has a designated area for women that can accommodate 1,000 female worshippers. The mosque features a single Andalusian-style minaret, and its dome has a height of 43 meters with a diameter of 27 meters.
The main building of the mosque has 144 windows, providing the mosque with a unique and well-lit ambiance. The walls are adorned with engraved Quranic verses and the beautiful names of Allah, creating an atmosphere of humility and devotion. The mosque also houses various religious and social facilities. It includes a vast 350-square-meter library and another room for hosting guests and dignitaries, designed in Andalusian style. Adjacent to the mosque, there is a splendid garden where worshippers and visitors can roam and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
