Gulbahar Hatun Mosque

Gulbahar Hatun Mosque is located west of the city center of Trabzon. It was ordered to be built by the Ottoman Sultan Selim I in honor of his mother, Gulbahar Hatun, and was named after her. The construction of the mosque was completed in the year 1514 AD.

Gulbahar Hatun Mosque is considered one of the most attractive and impressive mosques for both the local residents and tourists. The mosque, in addition to its distinctive location, is one of the most beautiful mosques built in its time, with its exquisite Islamic decorations, beautiful carpets, and splendid engravings.

The mosque includes the tomb of Gulbahar Hatun herself, and both the mosque and the surrounding mosque garden are visited by a large number of worshipers and tourists daily.
