Sagrada Familia
Sagrada Família (in Spanish: La Sagrada Família), also known as the Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family, is a Roman Catholic church that stands as one of the largest churches in Europe. It is located in the Sagrada Família neighborhood of Barcelona, Spain. Construction of the church began in 1882, yet it remains unfinished to this day. The building is currently around 95% complete, but it was selected as one of the Twelve Treasures of Spain in 2007. The expected completion of the church's construction is set for the year 2026.
The exterior walls of Sagrada Família are adorned with numerous sculptural works spanning various eras. The facade, known as the "Glory Facade," remains incomplete and its construction is funded by the proceeds from ticket sales, as the government does not support church construction in that area.
Sagrada Família draws around 4.5 million tourists annually, with approximately 20 million visitors roaming around its magnificent structure every year. It is a true artistic masterpiece in every sense of the word.
