St. Michael's Cathedral and Gudla
St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church in Brussels, Belgium. Due to its significance and location in the capital city, the cathedral plays an important role in both tourism and religion in the country. It is used for official ceremonies and national Catholic celebrations. The cathedral witnessed the wedding of King Philippe of Belgium and Mathilde, Duchess of Brabant.
The St. Michael and St. Gudula Cathedral was founded in the 15th century and was named after the patron saints of Brussels, St. Michael and St. Gudula.
With a long history spanning centuries and wars, the cathedral has remained intact in its full splendor. Its facade is imposing, featuring two towers that each reach a height of 69 meters. The decoration and ornaments were designed in the Gothic style.
