Barcelona Cathedral

Barcelona Cathedral, also known as the Holy Cross Cathedral or the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, is situated in the Catalonia region of Barcelona, Spain. It ranks among the oldest churches in the continent of Europe, with a history spanning over 500 years, as it was established in 1448. The iconic Gothic façade was later added in the late 19th century.

One of the most distinguishing features of Barcelona Cathedral is its incredibly beautiful Gothic façade, known for its ornate spires adorned with numerous statues depicting mythical creatures and present-day animals. The cathedral also houses several tombs of saints and historical figures throughout its history.

The Naming of the Cathedral: Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia

It was named after a young virgin who lived during the Roman era and was known as Saint Eulalia at that time.
