Maritime Museum

The Maritime Museum is a museum located in the Beşiktaş area of Istanbul, Turkey. It was constructed at the end of the 18th century, precisely in 1897, by the order of the Ottoman Navy Minister, "Bozcaadalı Hasan Hüsnü Paşa," with the approval of Sultan Abdul Hamid II.

Museum Collections

The Maritime Museum is considered a national museum due to its valuable collection. It houses over 20,000 rare artifacts related to the Ottoman Navy and the tools used in its construction. Additionally, the museum exhibits some naval vessels that participated in World War I and others that were involved in World War II.

Opening Hours

The museum is open daily, except on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 09:00 to 17:00.
