Eastern
Al-Sharqiyah is one of the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, located in the eastern part of the country.
Al-Sharqiyah Governorate is divided into two sections:
- North Al-Sharqiyah: With a population of approximately 265,000 people, it includes six wilayats: Al Mudhaibi, Al Qabil, Al Bidyah, Dama and Al Taaiyeen, Ibri, and Wadi Bani Khalid.
- South Al-Sharqiyah: With a population of approximately 293,000 people, it includes five wilayats: Al Kamil Wal Wafi, Jaalan Bani Bu Ali, Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, Masirah, and Sur.
The governorate boasts three distinct natural environments: a coastal region in the northern part, agricultural areas in the southern part, and a desert environment.
History:
Al-Sharqiyah Governorate has played a significant historical role in promoting trade and maritime navigation in the Indian Ocean. It served as a regional center for the area and provided shelter for Allied aircraft during World War II at "Ras Al Hadd."

The climate of Al-Sharqiyah Governorate is moderate throughout the year.
