Ras El-Tin Palace: History and Elegance in the Heart of Alexandria

Ras El Tin Palace is one of the most significant and oldest palaces constructed in the Arab Republic of Egypt. It is situated in the city of Alexandria, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The construction of the palace took approximately 11 years and occurred in the 19th century during the reign of Muhammad Ali Pasha, specifically in the year 1845.

This palace is unique as it hosted the entire Muhammad Ali Pasha's family for around 150 years. It was the first place in the Arab Republic of Egypt to have a telephone installed. Additionally, the palace witnessed the rule of the last Khedive in Egypt before being stripped of power by the British government, Khedive Ismail. It also witnessed the end of the Alawite dynasty in Egypt when King Farouk was deposed and exiled to Italy.
