Hofburg Palace - The Imperial Residence in Vienna
Hofburg Palace has been the residence of the ruling family in Vienna since the 13th century until 1918. In 1945, it became the official residence of the President of the Republic of Austria after the downfall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire following World War I. Today, the palace serves as both a popular tourist attraction and the official workplace of the President of Austria.
The construction of Hofburg Palace began in the 13th century AD, making it the largest palace in the country. Over time, numerous wings and facilities were added to the palace. Visitors are allowed to explore some of the wings, wander through the extensive grounds of Hofburg Palace, and view its imperial treasures and decor. Additionally, horse-drawn carriage tours are available, adding a special charm to the palace.
