The New Library of Alexandria
The New Library of Alexandria is the largest library in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the second-largest library in the world after the Library of Congress in the United States, in terms of content, references, and resources.
As its name suggests, the library is located in Alexandria Governorate. Notably, it is a revival of the ancient Library of Alexandria, with its history dating back to 2002. The library encompasses an enormous array of audiovisual resources and, remarkably, covers various fields including art, history, medicine, astronomy, and even extremely rare manuscripts. This diverse collection has elevated its scholarly value, housing millions of books and making it the foremost hub for students and researchers seeking information across all domains.
Library Hours and Admission Tickets:
From Sunday to Thursday, the library is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The entry fee is 10 Egyptian pounds for students and 70 Egyptian pounds for tourists.
