Hohenzollen Bridge
The Hohenzollern Bridge, spanning approximately 400 meters, crosses the banks of the Rhine River in the city of Cologne, and was primarily built as a railway bridge. Today, however, it is the most widely used pedestrian bridge in Germany.
The Hohenzollern Bridge is also known as the "Bridge of Love" or the "Love Locks Bridge" because it features a staggering number of padlocks placed by lovers. They bring locks and inscribe them with things that immortalize their love, then lock them onto the bridge and toss the key into the river, symbolizing their everlasting love. Additionally, the bridge offers an ideal view of some important landmarks in the city, making it one of the most significant attractions in Cologne.
