It is located in the central-northern part of the country near the German border, on the shores of Lake Zurich, next to the Limmat River. Zurich covers an area of 1729 square kilometers and has been awarded the title of the best city to live in the world for three consecutive years. It is also considered one of the safest, cleanest, and most peaceful cities in the world.

The old part of Zurich contains numerous archaeological and architectural treasures, including the Fraumünster Church and the Grossmünster Church, both of which were built in the Middle Ages.
