Pharaoh's Island: Enchanting Retreat and Red Sea Exploration

Pharaoh's Island is a coral island located 8 km off the coast, situated in the middle of the Gulf of Aqaba near the city of Sharm El Sheikh in the South Sinai Governorate of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

It's worth mentioning that the island is also known as Salah El-Din Al-Ayyubi Castle. Legend has it that the famous Islamic hero Salah El-Din Al-Ayyubi (Saladin) was the one who established this coral island. It's said that he constructed several towers on the island to monitor maritime routes, protect borders from enemies, and secure the pilgrimage and Umrah routes. The island served as a lighthouse to guide incoming and outgoing ships in the Gulf of Aqaba.

Visitors to the island can witness the castle built in the simplest way. They can see ancient military accommodations, food storage areas, and the lighthouse that was used at that time. Moreover, the view from the top of the observation tower is truly unique. From the summit, you can observe the borders of four countries: Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the beloved Palestine.
