Mount Uhud: A Renowned Historical Site in Prophetic History

Mount Uhud is a mountain located north of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah (Madinah), about 4 kilometers away from the Prophet's Mosque.

Mount Uhud witnessed several events after the prophethood, and the most significant of these events was the Battle of Uhud, in which the result of victory or defeat for the Muslims cannot be definitively determined. In this battle, seventy companions were martyred and buried there, and their graves remain present on the mountain to this day.

There are several narrations regarding the reason behind naming the mountain Uhud. Some say it was named Uhud because it stands alone, surrounded only by valleys and plains, while others suggest that a person named Uhud, who was one of the ancient original inhabitants of Madinah, lived on this mountain, and that's why it was named after him.

Mount Uhud is visited by a large number of Muslims from around the world every year, who come to see the mountain and the graves of the companions buried there.
