The Palácio da Bolsa or Palace of the Stock Exchange earned its name due to its historical connection as the Stock Exchange in Portugal. The palace, located in the city of Porto, was constructed in the mid-19th century in a renewed classical style.
The Palácio da Bolsa is an artistic and architectural masterpiece in every sense. It features numerous rooms and grand halls adorned with decorations and engravings, showcasing the grandeur of Portugal's past, its significant economic stature, and its historical dominance in markets. The Arabian Room is particularly important within the palace, designed in an Andalusian style that invokes nostalgia for Al-Andalus. The room took 18 years to construct and boasts around 18 kilograms of gold, breathtaking engravings, and luxurious furnishings. It continues to be used for receiving ambassadors and dignitaries to this day.
