The history of building Al Alam Palace dates back to 1800, constructed by Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, who was the seventh grandfather of Sultan Qaboos. The palace was initially used as a residence for rulers and governors, serving as a residential headquarters until the era of Sultan Said bin Taimur. In its modern form, in 1972, two years after Sultan Qaboos assumed power in the Sultanate of Oman, extensive maintenance and renovation works were carried out, resulting in the Al Alam Palace we know today. Subsequently, the palace has been used for official presidential receptions and important state meetings.
