Belvedere Park
Belvedere Park is one of the largest and oldest parks in Tunisia, with construction beginning in 1892 AD and its official opening in 1910 after ensuring the growth of trees and plant life within its grounds.
Belvedere Park is considered the "lung" of the Tunisian capital, due to its role in maintaining air quality in the city and the abundance of its vegetation. The park boasts around 230,000 trees. One of its standout features is the zoo, which was established in 1963 AD, housing approximately 1,200 different species of animals, including birds, reptiles, mammals, and more. It also hosts rare and endangered animal species.
Belvedere Park is a favorite spot among the city's residents for leisurely walks and outings with family or friends, providing a pleasant natural environment. The park also features several other facilities, including a horse club and a flower exhibition. Additionally, it offers various cafes and good restaurants. The park is also a venue for national celebrations, military displays, and festivals.
