Ottoman village
The Ottoman Village, also known as Gümüşköy, is a village located 13 km away from the center of Bursa. Its history dates back more than 700 years to the days of the Ottoman Empire's rule in the region. The village is distinguished by preserving its unique Ottoman style to this day, as its buildings maintain their strength and durability. Additionally, the village retains the Ottoman spirit and atmosphere within, making it feel like a historical spot.
The Ottoman Village consists of 270 houses built from wood and stone, reflecting the Ottoman rural architecture. These houses are typically two to three stories high. The village also houses the remains of a historical Byzantine church and a market displaying various handicrafts, including the famous honey and jam of the region. There is also a restaurant serving traditional breakfast, known for its natural and additive-free food.
The famous Bursa Raspberry Festival is held annually in the Ottoman Village, attracting a large number of tourists who flock to experience the joy of the festival combined with the unique historical ambiance.
