Nizwa Fort

Nizwa Fort stands out with its massive circular shape and strategic design, making it more resistant to external attacks that it constantly faced. It was built by Imam Sultan bin Saif bin Malik Al Ya'arubi in the year 1660 AD, and its construction took six years.

The inner diameter of Nizwa Fort is 39 meters, while the outer diameter is 43 meters, and it reaches a height of 24 meters. Inside the fort, there are numerous internal passages and prisons, where it served as the seat of governance and execution of punishments.

Nizwa Fort is located in the city of Nizwa, which is part of the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate. Near the fort, you can find Nizwa Souq, a traditional market famous for its traditional crafts.
