The Icelandic Phallological Museum was opened in 1997. It was the only museum of its kind at that time, though over time, several other museums with similar interests have been established. Nevertheless, this museum remains unique in its field.
Contents of The Icelandic Phallological Museum:
The museum houses 300 specimens distributed among various categories, including around 100 samples from marine animals, divided between whales and sealife. There are approximately 150 samples taken from mammals, and the remainder from humans. The museum also features many sculptures of penises.
The museum includes a souvenir shop selling medals shaped like small penises, as well as necklaces.
